Ideas for double Page Spread

I've decided I'm going to do two double page spreads for my magazine, one of which will be a more traditional double page spread and the other of which will be a butterfly gatefold double page spread i.e. it's a double page spread withA4  flaps that open out on both sides, creating a double page spread that is twice as wide as usual and therefore make two lots of A3. I've seen this format used sporradically in various music and fashion magazines in the past and it's always used very effectively. I plan to leave the flaps that open out displaying just still images with no text to boarder the base body of the double page spread where the article, the title and the text can be found. I plan for this double page spread to be an extension of the band I am writing about who are a noise rock band, so I plan for the spread to look quite distorted and layered, I want it to be loud as well. The images on the outer sheets are going to be in colour on the outisde but on the inside they will be black and white to contrast the colours of the main section of the article.
